BCP Council has issued a warning after reports of people receiving emails claiming to be penalty charge notices from HM Courts & Tribunal Service.
The emails feature an official looking logo and include a payment link.
A spokesperson for BCP Council said: “Please note that BCP Council never sends Penalty Charge Notices by email.
“Our parking team only send email notifications in response to customer actions such as completing an online form.
“Please do not open attachments, click on links or reply to any emails you consider to be suspicious.”
