TWO men have been arrested after police received a report of poaching in Ringwood.

Police were called to reports of hare coursing at a farm in Christchurch Road.

A spokesperson for Ringwood Police said: “We were called just before 7pm on September 13, to reports of hare coursing in progress at a farm on Christchurch Road after two men were seen encouraging their dogs to chase hares.

“Officers attended and the two suspects were located, the dogs and their vehicle were seized.

“Two 28-year-old men from Dorset were arrested on suspicion of trespassing at night with poaching equipment.

“They remain in custody at this time.”

The dogs seized have been taken to a kennel while the investigation is ongoing.
