A MAN who went out in Bournemouth equipped to carry out theft has been jailed for 24 weeks.
Shaun Martin Russell, aged 24, was caught in the town with a crowbar, gloves, a balaclava, pliers, snips and two lock knives on November 3 last year.
The defendant, of Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, admitted charges of going equipped to commit theft, possession of a bladed article in public and commission of a further offence during the operational period of a suspended sentence order for an offence breaching a restraining order at an earlier hearing.
Appearing at Poole Magistrates' Court on September 8, Russell was jailed for eight weeks for the suspended sentence breach, 12 weeks concurrent for going equipped and 16 weeks consecutive for having the knives – an overall length of sentence of 24 weeks.
He was also ordered to pay a £120 surcharge and £300 costs.
