Traffic is at a standstill in Christchurch after a "possible collision" on Barrack Road earlier this afternoon.
Police and ambulance were called to the incident involving a silver Volkswagen Passat.
The vehicle was recovered at 4.22pm but traffic is still moving slowly in both directions along the A35 Christchurch Bypass from A337 Highcliffe Road to B3073 Bargates.
A police spokesman said: "We were called at 2.19pm on Thursday September 10 to reports of a possible collision on Barrack Road in Christchurch involving a silver Volkswagen Passat.
"Officers and ambulance attended and the vehicle was recovered at 4.22pm."
Traffic has been exacerbated by the ongoing works on Bargates by Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks which started on Tuesday.
