TODAY the Daily Echo are turning back the clock on a time when Wimborne pupils did the same.
Keen pupils of Wimborne First School had a taste of life as rich Victorian children when they paid a visit to historic Kingston Lacy House on September 20, 1990.
Dressed in period costume, the youngsters enjoyed six traditional art, craft and games sessions at the imposing National Trust country house.
The 106 pupils aged from seven to nine played with genuine Victorian hoops, tops and skittles, went on a nature walk, produced a Victorian scrapbook and made old-fashioned lemonade.
Inside the house, the girls made sewing samplers and boys created kites from traditional materials.
All the craftwork from the visit was given back to the trust to display in their education room.
