NINE men and woman who committed driving offences in Dorset have been banned from the roads during a single day of court hearings.

The motorists, who come from Bournemouth, North Dorset and Poole, appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on Saturday, September 5, for various offences, including drink driving, drug driving and failing to provide a specimen of breath or blood for analysis.

The judge dished out a total of £6,809 in financial penalties to the nine defendants, including a £3,200 fine to one man, along with driving bans of varying lengths.

Details for each case are as follows:

  • PAUL TURNBULL, aged 59 and of Charminster Road, Bournemouth, admits driving a BMW in Charminster Road, Bournemouth, on February 12 while unfit to drive through drugs. Fined £200. To pay £32 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 16 months. Also admits using a BMW in Charminster Road, Bournemouth, on February 12, with a tyre which had the ply or cord exposed. No separate penalty. Driving record endorsed.
  • RENATA KALEMBA, aged 34 and of Milton Road, Bournemouth, admits driving a vehicle in Holdenhurst Road, Bournemouth, on July 31 with 79 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Fined £350. To pay £35 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months.
  • ALLAN CHARLES THROWER, aged 68 and of Viscount Close, Poole, admits when suspected of having driven a vehicle failing to provide a specimen of blood for a laboratory test in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence in Pound Lane, Poole, on April 26. Fined £300. To pay £34 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 20 months.
  • SCOTT MANSELL REEVES, aged 28 and of Malmesbury Park Road, Bournemouth, admits when suspected of having driven a vehicle failing to provide a specimen or specimens of breath for analysis in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence in Sopers Lane, Christchurch, on July 21. Fined £375. To pay £37 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months.
  • MICHAEL PRITCHARD, aged 28 and of Holly Green Rise, Bournemouth, admits driving a motor vehicle in Ringwood Road, Bournemouth, on July 22, with 77 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Fined £400. To pay £40 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months. Also admits driving a motor vehicle in Ringwood Road, Bournemouth, on July 22, and exceeding the 40mph limit. No separate penalty. Driving record endorsed.
  • NATASHA CHRISTIE WALL, aged 48 and of Church Street, Sturminster Newton, admits driving a Mini Cooper in Ashley Road, Poole, on July 24, with 74 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Fined £350. To pay £35 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months.
  • PHILIP JOHN HARVELL, aged 52 and of Columbia Road, Bournemouth, admits driving a Toyota Avensis in Castle Lane West, Bournemouth, on July 7 with 75 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. Fined £280. To pay £34 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months.
  • EDWARD HAIGH, aged 23 and of Lake Avenue, Poole, admits when suspected of having driven a vehicle failing to provide a specimen or specimens of breath for analysis in the course of an investigation into whether he had committed an offence at Poole Police Station in Wimborne Road on June 20. Fined £3,200. To pay £190 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 16 months.
  • LIAM JORDAN GHEE, aged 27 and of Herbert Avenue, Poole, admits driving a BMW 1 series in Poole Road, Branksome, on March 28 with more than seven micrograms of THC per litre of blood. Fined £120. To pay £32 surcharge and £85 costs. Disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 14 months.
