A MAN has come forward to police in relation to the reported theft of a bike in Christchurch town centre.

Officers are investigating the incident in which it was reported that at around 1.45am on Saturday, August a woman locked her bike up outside the entrance to Pit Site car park in Barrack Road, only to return a short time later to discover her bike had been stolen.

Dorset Police issued a public CCTV appeal as part of their enquiries.

Following ongoing investigations and this appeal, a man has now come forward in connection with the incident.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said no arrests have been made.
