A MAN has been jailed for assaulting two paramedics in Poole.
Terry John Cook, aged 44 and of St Helier Road, Poole assaulted emergency workers in Alderney Avenue on March 1.
Appearing at Poole Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, September 2, Cook was committed to prison for four months for the offences, having admitted the crimes at an earlier hearing.
He was also ordered to £50 compensation to both paramedics.
The bench noted Cook's poor record including offences of violence, a poor compliance with court orders and that he assaulted emergency workers who were there to help.
Magistrates jailed him for a further four months as the defendant had been convicted of an offence while a community order was in force for a separate incident of assaulting a paramedic at Poole Bus Station in September last year.
This punishment led to an overall length of sentence of eight months imprisonment.
