ANOTHER 12 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Dorset.

The figures, released by the government, show that in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Thursday, September 3, 10 people tested positive in the BCP Council area.

This means since the pandemic was declared, 919 people have tested positive across the conurbation.

The rate per 100,000 people in the BCP Council area now stands at 232.5.

A further two people tested positive in the Dorset Council area, taking the total to 666.

The rate for Dorset now stands at 176.

Elsewhere, in the New Forest, there were two new positive cases for Covid-19.

The total since the start of the pandemic for the New Forest now stands at 503 with a rate per 100,000 of 279.3.
