Radio 1 DJ Steve Wright attracted a record-breaking Road Show audience to Bournemouth.
An estimated 14,000 people flocked to the pier approach for the 90-minute show broadcast live to nine million on August 14, 1990.
Some people had used a crane to get a birds-eye view of the 100ft long stage; others had climbed on the roof of the Showbar and Quarter Deck bar.
Hundreds of youngsters, many i fancy dress had arrived by 8am.
The entire cast of Bread mad a surprise appearance.
The first heavy metal band to appear on a Road Show, Wolfsbane, was well received and the introduction of karaoke had youngsters clamouring to impersonate their idols on stage.
Some did impressions ranging from Madonna to Dame Edna Everage.
Despite the threat of rain, Steve, dressed in a pinstripe blazer, flowery shirt and tie and multi-coloured Bermuda shorts , soon raised the temperature.
