A ROAD in Boscombe was cordoned off on Friday evening while firefighters tackled a garage fire.
Three fire crews rushed to deal with the blaze in Hamilton Road.
A Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "We currently have crews dealing with a garage on fire in Hamilton Road.
"Three crews are in attendance from Springbourne, Westbourne and Christchurch. We were called at around 5.40pm. The incident is ongoing."
Three police cars are on the scene.
A police cordon is in place from Carysfort Road and Walpole Road.
Another cordon in place from Hamilton Road to the junction with Christchurch Road.
One resident in Hamilton Road said: “I don’t know what happened, all I saw was this smoke billowing out into the air.
“You can still smell the smoke now and its around an hour after it happened.
“There are a few derelict houses on this road.”
