I CANNOT believe that the government has decided to invest £25million of its £3.6billion town centre regeneration fund in Boscombe.
A huge amount of money has already spent on ‘regeneration’ there – including fancy paving and ornamentation for the ‘shared’ pedestrian/traffic area (big mistake) and precinct (most of the expensive planters being used as litter bins or giant ashtrays) and the gardens at Boscombe Crescent, among other projects.

That £25m would be put to better use repairing our disgraceful roads – which, in places, are worse than unsurfaced roads in the Australian outback! It’s a miracle that buses don’t fall apart as they travel between Bournemouth and Poole.
If anyone wants to know what it must have been like travelling by horse-drawn coach two or three hundred years ago, jump on one of our local buses – but, be warned, do not do so if you suffer from back pain – it is an excruciatingly painful, bone-jarring experience!
