AN uplifting mural depicting doves in a blue sky has been unveiled at Pokesdown station in Bournemouth.
Artist Krishna Malla was commissioned by Network Rail to improve the appearance of the railway station.
Pokesdown station has been the scene of numerous suicides in recent years and the mural is one of a number of measures aimed at making it a more peaceful and uplifting place.
The mural is 84 metres long and four metres high in places.
Mr Malla told the Daily Echo: "Another artist - Soap - painted a mural at the station 10 years ago and Network Rail asked him to do another one.
"It was going to be a collaboration between us but he was unable to do it due to lockdown.
"It was meant to be started in March but I only started in July - it took about four weeks to complete.
"The brief was a very sensitive one. It was about uplifting the area and positivity."
Other measures to improve the station have included signage from The Samaritans and the introduction of Land Sheriffs and Trespass Welfare Officers.
