A BURGLAR who stole around £1,500 items from a Bournemouth newsagents has appeared in court.
Edward McCarron trespassed at McColl's in Ringwood Road on May 22 and went on to steal a large haul of alcohol, cigarettes, tobacco, vape sticks, lighters, chocolates, stamps and charity pots.
Appearing at Poole Magistrates' Court on Monday, August 10, the 34-year-old admitted committing the store burglary. He was handed a community order to undergo treatment for drug dependency for six months and ordered to pay £100 compensation.
McCarron, of Covena Road, Bournemouth, also admitted stealing a pair of gloves belonging to a man in Sunnyhill Road, Bournemouth on May 13. He was fined £10 and told to pay £100 compensation.
On the same day he took £90.47 worth of confectionary items from One Stop in Seabourne Road, Bournemouth without paying and was found to be in possession of 47 Xanax tablets, a class C drug, at Royal Bournemouth Hospital. He admitted both of these offences and he was penalised under the same community order as the burglary.
