SEVEN drink drivers have been banned from the roads during a single day of court hearings.

The motorists, who come from Bournemouth, Christchurch, East Dorset and Poole, were all caught behind the wheel in excess of the alcohol limit for drivers of 35 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Drink driving, along with drug driving, is one of the factors that make up Dorset Police's 'fatal five' – the five most dangerous behaviours for those in charge of a vehicle.

The majority of the offending drivers dealt with at Poole Magistrates' Court on Saturday, August 8, committed their crimes during the coronavirus lockdown in late March and April.
