POLICE used a stinger last night to stop a teenage driver after a pursuit of almost four miles.
Officers spotted a Seat Leon driving dangerously and asked the vehicle to pull over.
But the driver failed to stop and a pursuit began from Bingley to the Wilsden area.
Police then used a stinger on Haworth Road to bring the chase to a halt.
A stinger is a hollow spike tyre deflation device.
It works by puncturing one or more tyres of an oncoming vehicle, when the stinger is thrown into its path by an officer from the side of the road.
The stinger is then quickly retracted before a following police car passes by.
Officers arrested an 18-year-old man from Keighley on suspicion of dangerous driving, following the pursuit.
Enquiries are ongoing.
