OWNER Maxim Demin said Jason Tindall “fully deserves to step up” as Cherries’ new manager.

The 42-year-old, a long-time assistant to former boss Eddie Howe, described as an “honour” stepping into the hot seat at Vitality Stadium.

Tindall, who also featured 199 times as a player for the Dorset outfit, today penned a three-year deal as the club’s new manager.

And owner Demin described as “the standout candidate” the former defender as the club enters a “new era”.

Demin told the club website: “Jason has played a huge role in this club’s success over the last decade and fully deserves to step up and become our new manager.

“While his knowledge of and passion for the club is unquestionable, he was the standout candidate for this role.

“He has huge enthusiasm for the project and great ideas to get the best out of a talented squad.

“This is the start of a new era for this football club and I’m excited about what the future holds.”

Alongside Howe, Tindall helped pilot Cherries from the depths of League Two all the way to five years in the Premier League in two separate spells.
