A MAN walking his dog was bitten by a Golden Retriever after it started to get aggressive.

The dog bit the man - aged his 70s - on his arm, ripped his jeans and scratched him in multiple places on his legs.

The incident occurred at Milldown Nature Reserve where the victim came across a Golden Retriever with a woman and a boy.

The two dogs started to play with each other, but the offending dog then became aggressive and the victim grabbed hold of it to stop it from attacking his dog.

The woman is described as white, aged in her late 20s or early 30s, approximately five feet six inches tall and well-built with shoulder length blonde hair.

The boy was aged between 11 and 13 years old.

The dog is believed to be called ‘Obey’.

Following an appeal, a woman has come forward and is assisting officers with their enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

No arrests have been made.
