A LARGE camp fire near an area of heathland was put out by firefighters near Arne nature reserve this morning.
A crew from Wareham fire station was called to the beach at Shipstal Point just before 9am.
A spokesman said: "Never light open fires in the countryside unless in a safe designated area. A small open fire can quickly get out of control especially when conditions are dry."
One fire engine, a unimog, Land Rover and water carrier were sent to the scene.
