Thousands have headed to Dorset on what is expected to be the hottest day of the year so far.

With long delays on the A31 heading towards Dorset, and roads around Bournemouth, Poole and Lulworth congested, the countyis proving popular for holidaymakers yet again.

But some examples of terrible parking have been seen once again, with drivers leaving vehicles on verges and yellow lines.

Ahead of today, BCP Council said illegally parked cars would be able to be towed away by the council under new powers introduced across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole.

But parking such as this has prompted residents to ask if it's time to consider other options as well, such as a huge park and ride scheme for visitors to the area.

Bournemouth Echo:

The driver of this vehicle has left it hanging off the kerb between two other vehicles.

Elsewhere in Dorset, Morebus services are facing major delays due to a “significant number of illegally parked cars and congestion”.

Cars parked along Ferry Road and Tower Road in Poole have caused issues.
