IT’S time to celebrate eight more of Dorset’s new arrivals.

Most of them came into the world at Dorset County Hospital (DCH) in Dorchester - but one on this page was born at home and we even feature a couple’s ‘miracle baby’ this week.

Starting us off is this little bundle of joy, who was born at home in Bridport.

Holden Erik Joy on the day he was born, April 5, at home in Bridport, weighing 6 lb 4 oz to Laura and Dominic Joy.

Dorset Echo:

Laura tells us: "Holden was born at home at 4:34am on 5th April 2020 supported by Ali and Karen from the Cygnet home birth team. We had planned to use a birth pool but there wasn’t enough time and Holden was born in the living room and delivered by his great Aunty Ali! He sadly hasn’t been able to have any cuddles with the rest of his family yet but we are all very much looking forward to it!"

Dorset Echo:

Eliot Simon-Alan Coad, born April 14 at DCH weighing 4lb 13oz to Nicole Wright and Daniel Coad of Sturminster Newton. Brother to Jack, Kristal, Logan and Oscar.

Nicole tells us: "I was booked in to have baby Elliot on the 17th of April, three weeks earlier than my due date (8th may 2020). It was a long 12 hour labour when he arrived at 4.45am on the 18th of April weighing 4lb 13oz, slight bit of jaundice but happy and healthy. A scary time to have a baby but the midwives at Dorchester are amazing, they made sure I was comfortable, smiling and kept my partner informed on when to come in. The after birth toast served and all checks done, we were able to go home that afternoon."

Dorset Echo:

Jacob Lee Hughes, born May 6 at DCH weighing 8lb 6oz to Catherine Mchale and Peter Hughes of Weymouth. Brother to Robyn Grace Hughes.

Catherine tells us: "I went into hospital, on the day he was born, C section planned."

Dorset Echo:

Buddy Larcombe, born April 9 at DCH weighing 8lb to Laura Stiling and Simon Larcombe of Beaminster. Brother to Ollie.

Laura says: "He was delivered at 39 weeks by C section. Home the following day Dorchester maternity unit was brilliant."

Dorset Echo:

Max Edward Deakin at 3 weeks old, enjoying cuddles with big sister Jasmine. Max was born on June 12 at DCH weighing 9lb 7oz to Holly and James Deakin of Wool.

Holly says: "Baby Max was born at Dorchester hospital 2 hours after our arrival at the hospital. We would like to thank everyone that was involved with looking after us all."

Dorset Echo:

Fari Ciro Lamyn Esposito, a few hours old, born May 22 at DCH weighing 7lb 1oz to Casey Esposito of Weymouth

Casey tells us: "I had a pretty straightforward birth. I was induced on my due date.
I was induced on Thursday 21st May at 1pm and gave birth Friday 22nd May at 9:46pm.
"The midwives and doctors were absolutely amazing, they made me feel so comfortable and calm.
"Even through this pandemic they made sure to change their PPE every time they left my room and entered it. I couldn’t thank them enough for the hard work they do."

Dorset Echo:

Toby Michael Stephen Clements, born April 21 at DCH weighing 6lb 15oz to Lisa Marie Mansfield and Jason Barry Clements of Blandford. Lisa said: “Toby is our miracle baby born after nine years of trying to conceive.

"After 5 days in hospital after a failed induction our little miracle Toby was born via emergency C section. It has been a very difficult time not being able to show him off to friends and family but we couldn't be happier finally starting our journey as parents after all this time and we can't wait to tell him how he was born during the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic when he is older, we even saved the letter from Number 10 to put in his baby keepsake box! We can't wait to take Toby on adventures once this is all over, he has brought us so much joy already!"

And last but certainly not least, announcing.....

Dorset Echo:

Winnie Hayward, pictured here at 11 days old, born March 14 at DCH weighing 5lb 2oz to Ebony and Joseph Hayward of Weymouth. Ebony tells us: ”Winnie was due on April 2 but due to low birthweight, I was induced at 37 weeks.”
