THE annual charity golf day at Dudsbury Golf Club in Ferndown will take place on October 16.

Round Table Children’s Wish has scheduled the golf day, which was initially planned for next month, to coincide with its 30th anniversary.

The charity helps grant wishes like holidays to Disneyland or meeting celebrities for children with life-threatening illnesses.

Money raised from the golf day will go towards granting these wishes.

Round Table Children’s Wish fundraising officer Clare Kyrillou said: “We’re sorry that our golf day has had to be postponed, but the decision was taken to protect the safety of our golfers and comply with current restrictions on group gatherings and social distancing measures.

“We know our golfers will understand why we had to postpone, but we’re hoping for a bumper golf day on our rescheduled date in October – our 30th anniversary.

“We’d love colleagues, friends and family members to get a team together and join us – it’s for a great cause and it’s always a fun day.”

The cost of the gold day is £60 per player, or £240 for a team of four, and there is also a range of sponsorship packages for businesses to promote themselves.

The day begins with a hot drink and bacon bap for the golfers before they play the 18-hole course. There are competitions for nearest the pin and the longest drive.

A two-course late lunch follows, along with a raffle, auction and prize-giving.
