FORMER King of the Jungle, Harry Redknapp, opened a new indoor golf centre in Poole.

Based on Ringwood Road, Poole, the GolfCatcher academy boasts seven golf simulator bays and a 40ft putting green.

Owners of the centre claim it to be the largest indoor golf centre in the south west and said it is the first of its kind to come to Poole.

Harry said: “There’s amazing facilities at GolfCatcher Academy.

“I can’t wait to bring my grandkids, I’ll be up here quite regularly practicing my golf.

“Absolutely fantastic.”

The centre has also partnered with Callaway, golf equipment manufacturers, to offer a fitting centre.

This gives customers the opportunity to be custom fitted with the range of clubs available.

Furthermore, putting brand Odyssey has created a studio giving golfers stroke analysis and tuition.

Harry Potter star James Phelps also visited the centre.

He said: “What’s really cool is that you don’t need to be a seasoned golfer to use it and the guys are really encouraging.

“I unfortunately shanked one, but it was no worries because the staff were on hand and able to tell me where I went wrong.

“A great place to come and check out.”

Members at the GolfCacther Academy will be able to access coaching from Martyn Thompson, vice-captain of the 2015 GB and PGA team.

CEO of GolfCatcher, Paul Barran, said: “We want people to fall in love with golf, so we created a centre to make it more accessible for everyone.

“We wanted to bring the best to our customers, with equipment from two of the biggest names in the industry, Foresight Sports and Callaway.

“It is accessible, 7am until 9pm, seven days a week.”
