Weymouth saw a significant rise in anti-social behaviour during April - despite the national lockdown measures.

The town also saw a slight increase in overall reported crimes in comparison to the same period a year ago.

Through the analysis of police.uk data, the Echo are able to bring you a side by side comparison of crime rates.

Anti-social behaviour reports increased by 148 during April; a significant increase compared to the previous year.

However, the figures show that shoplifting reduced dramatically, to only seven reports. All non-essential shops were closed at the height of the lockdown.

The number of burglaries also decreased during lockdown, potentially because everyone was remaining in their properties.

The total number of crimes reported in Weymouth during April 2019 was 653 whilst in April 2020 the number increased to 688.
