A MESSAGE in a bottle launched from Bournemouth beach has made its way to Spain two years later.

London resident and therapist Nicolas Aujula threw the bottle with a message at Bournemouth beach on a day trip back in June 2018 which travelled 20 months to be found in the coastal town of Xabia, Spain in late April 2020, during the global lockdown.

Nicolas has always had an interest in writing notes and letters, which lead him on a whim to toss a note in a corked bottle into the English Channel.

Nicolas received an email from a Spanish local called Brendon Ryan who got in touch to say he found the bottle on the beach.

Brendon also put a picture of the bottle and note on his Twitter account.

Nicolas said: "I had completely forgotten about the bottle. It's been a long time, so to receive an email out of the blue that it had been found was a lovely surprise especially during the lockdown. In this modern world of email and social media where we instantly connect with people, I thought I would send a message via the sea and to see how far it would go, more importantly share some positive words of inspiration and wisdom that would make you think."

The message reads: "Follow your dreams for your soul came here to thrive not just survive. Life is a series of moments take each memorable one for that's what you take when you leave this world."
