The Army's bomb disposal unit was called today to help deal with a possible explosive device.
Police were called to an area near Fancy's Farm on Portland this morning after a device was located by members of the public.
Cordons were put in place and the farm has had to close.
Dorset Police worked with the MOD to resolve the issue and members of the public were urged to avoid the area until further notice.
Later this afternoon, the device was found to be parts relating to amateur rocketry and not a threat to the public, according to police.
The MOD took the parts with them.
