A MAN who assaulted two women by beating them in Bournemouth's Old Christchurch Road has appeared in court.

Liam Arthur Newman, 24, of Ashley Road, Poole admitted the offences when he appeared before Poole magistrates.

He also admitted committing further offences while the subject of a suspended prison sentence for three offences of battery and one of harassment.

The assaults took place on September 28 last year and Newman was given a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and a 12-week curfew.

He was also ordered to pay £250 compensation and £85 costs.
