TWO drivers were stopped by police after racing each other at 109 miles per hour in a 50 mile per hour zone.
Police witnessed a Mercedes and Abarth racing on Dorset Way, reaching speeds of 109 miles per hour.
Police discovered that the Mercedes driver was on her way home from work and the Abarth driver was out for a drive.
The drivers didn't know each other but decided to race, resulting in both being reported to court.
Prior to that incident, police spent two hours on foot engaging with some car enthusiasts at Sandbanks car park holding unofficial car meetings.
The young people in question understood police concerns and were pleased it was being investigated.
