A MAN has appeared before the courts after remaining in a Poole flat that was subjected to a closure order.

Callum Mitchell Lindsay Wright, aged 32 and of Blandford Close, Poole, admitted being at the address in Orchard Plaza, High Street on July 6, despite the order being issued by the courts on June 29.

Appearing at Poole Magistrates' Court on July 8, the defendant also admitted assaulting PC Suttle at Bournemouth Custody on July 6.

He was handed two sentences of 28 days in prison to run concurrently, suspended for six months.

Wright was ordered to pay £100 compensation to the officer and £85 court costs.
