TODAY we take a look back at Queen’s Park Golf Club when the venue drew in the crowds to watch a tournament in 1939.
This Echo photo is of a £2,000 golf tournament at the Bournemouth golf club back in April 1939.
The event saw the return of golfer Archie Compston after a two-year illness playing against against Henry Cotton, the game resulted in a tie.
As reported by the Daily Echo in recent weeks, the golf course at Queen's Park could be axed by BCP Council.
