ORIGINALLY scheduled to take place on July 19, Wareham Carnival has sadly been cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Although carnival goers may not be able to enjoy all of the fun of the fair, they can quench their carnival thirsts by taking a nostalgic look through these pictures from the first Wareham Carnival of the millennium.
The date was July 30, 2000, when these colourful floats and their merry occupants snaked their way through the streets.
Each year events such as a scarecrow competition, safari supper, history walk, disco, and craft and flower show take place in the week leading up to the procession.
