THE REOPENING of pubs and restaurants in Salisbury was "successful", police have said, and venues made "an amazing effort" to understand and implement social distancing.
Although "there was a positive feeling to the night from those who chose to come into the city", there were still a handful of incidents that officers were required to attend.
These included two people who were asked to leave a pub because they had drunk too much, a person arrested for domestic assault on a previous occasion and a drunk person walking in the road who needed help to get back to their home address in Alderbury.
Three people have also been reported for leaving a pub without paying for their drinks.
Inspector Pete Sparrow said: "Overall, this was a successful reopening of pubs and restaurants, which reflects effort from everyone involved.
"I’m sure we have all learned from the weekend and will continue to work with licensed premises and customers throughout our area to keep our community safe and businesses viable."
