POOLE Lifeboat volunteers went to the aid of fishermen whose canoe had become stuck in reeds at Holes Bay.
They were called at 8.30pm after boat's engine broke down and it drifted into reeds.
A spokesman for Poole Lifeboat said: "Conditions in Holes Bay were drizzly and blustery, with a challenging westerly wind.
"The lifeboat was soon on scene, they found the vessel at the east side of Holes Bay on the road side. The crew checked the occupants were okay and a tow line was passed across onto the canoe, the lifeboat then pulled it free from the reeds, once clear, it enabled the fishermen to recover their net.
"The lifeboat then brought the canoe back to Davis's Boatyard next to Cobb's Quay and put them in alongside, as close as they could get."
the lifeboat then returned to station.
