PUBS across Dorset are preparing to welcome back customers this weekend.

A pint at your local will feel very different to before the lockdown.

The ‘new normal’ will see fewer customers, time limits, limited menus and different layouts.

Some may even have Perspex screens and propping up the bar will be a thing of the past with table service and perhaps even ordering via a phone app among some of the changes that pub goers will have to used to.

With this in mind, we’ve been reminiscing about pubs we used to love that are no longer pulling pints.

Last year, we invited readers to tell us their favourite good old-fashioned pubs from the past.

Some of the pubs mentioned included The Gander on the Green, The Woodman in Branksome, The Ansty Arms, Daisy O'Briens and the Horse and Jockey.

The Criterion, The Palace Vaults, The Seagull and The Parkstone Railway were also much missed.

We’re revisiting our archives to bring you pictures of some of the pubs from yesteryear that were once part of our social lives and fabric of society.

You can let us know of any other pubs you missed in the comments or by clicking the button below.

And, if run a pub that's reopening this weekend and want to tell us about the changes you've made, you can do so here
