POLICE stopped six drivers in Sherborne travelling more than 96mph.
Two cars were seized and four others were given fixed penalties, all were reported to court.
The drivers were caught travelling on the A30 dual carriageway.
Firstly, a Ducati MC rider reportedly racing his friend was caught travelling 111mph.
An apologetic VMW 320 driver was clocked at 96mph.
A driver of a VW Bora and a BMW 730 were both caught at 98mph and could not give an excuse.
An Audi driver with a child in the car was stopped for going 101mph, when stopped the driver said she didn’t realise how fast she was going.
Finally, a VW Transporer was caugjt at 99mph. The driver was delivering the van to Yeovil and was very apologetic when he found his job may be affected.
