POLICE are searching for an 83-year-old Bournemouth man who was last seen in the early hours of this morning.

Dermot McDonnell, also known as Mac, was last seen at 4am on Sunday at his home address in Acres Road.

He is described as white, five feet four inches tall and of medium build with grey hair.

He is possibly wearing black trousers, a grey short-sleeved, a blue raincoat, black shoes and a black baseball cap.

Officers searching for Dermot have appealed for help from the public.

Chief inspector Lindsay Dudfield, of Dorset Police, said: “Dermot can become easily confused so we are extremely keen to find him to make sure he is safe and well.

“Officers are currently searching the local area in a bid to locate him, assisted by the NPAS helicopter.

“I am appealing to anyone with information as to Dermot’s whereabouts, or who sees a man matching the description given, to please get in touch immediately.”
