A WOMAN was injured in a multi-vehicle accident that closed a Hampshire motorway.
Four vehicles were involved in the pile-up, which occurred on the southbound carriageway of the M271 in Southampton.
The motorway wad closed between junction 1 at Nursling and the A35 Redbridge roundabout.
The vehicles involved were a white Hyundai 101, a blue BMW 120d sport, a blue Land Rover Discovery and a black Mercedes-Benz CS00.
Police say the accident occurred at around 2pm yesterday.
A police spokesperson said officers were called to reports of a collision on the M271 southbound near the Redbridge roundabout.
He added that a woman was injured in the accident, adding that Highways England had helped to implement the road closure.
