TWO Bournemouth men have been arrested after police discovered a cannabis factory worth an estimated £1million in Bournemouth.

Police officers from the county lines team discovered the factory after attending a house in Westbourne.

The team visited the house on Snowdon Road with a housing officer and found eight growing rooms inside the residential address.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “At around 11am on Thursday June 25 officers from the county lines team carried out a joint visit with a housing officer at a property on Snowdon Road in Bournemouth.

“While in attendance, officers located a reported cannabis factory.

“A very large quantity of suspected cannabis was seized, more than 1,000 plants, along with a quantity of cash and mobile phones.

“A 32-year-old man has been charged with producing a controlled drug of class B and a 34-year-old man has been charged with being concerned in the production of a controlled drug of class B.

“The two men, both from Bournemouth, are due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday June 26.”

A post on the Bournemouth South Police Facebook page confirmed there were eight growing rooms inside the address, and said many were ready to harvest.

The post read: “The county lines team were busy yesterday after locating a cannabis factory in Snowdon Road, Westbourne.

“There were eight growing rooms inside the residential address, many were ready for harvest.

“Along with all the plants, a quantity of cash and mobile phones were seized and taken off the streets of Dorset, believed to be worth about £1million.

“Two men were arrested and following investigation they have been charged and remanded in custody.”

Pictures taken after police recovered the county lines team recovered the drugs from the Westbourne home show nearly 15 bags full of cannabis.
