THE police helicopter has been launched to assist in the search for a woman who went missing from Royal Bournemouth Hospital before she’d finished receiving treatment.

Sapphire Povey, aged 23, was last seen at the hospital in Castle Lane East at around 7.10pm on Thursday, June 25.

Sapphire is described as white, around five feet two inches tall and of very thin build with hair that is slightly pink in colour.

It is believed she may be wearing light coloured clothing.

The NPAS helicopter is carrying out searches in the Poole area. 

Chief Inspector Claire Phillips, of Dorset Police, said: “Sapphire left hospital before she had finished receiving treatment and we are therefore becoming increasingly concerned for her welfare.

“We have been carrying out a number of enquiries so far to try and locate her.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Sapphire or a woman matching the description given to please get in touch.

“Finally, if you see this appeal Sapphire, please make contact with us so we can ensure you are safe and well.”
