POLICE made a night-time swoop to target campers and ticket cars that were parked illegally.
Purbeck Police reacted to concerns by local residents informing them of the number of tents that were being set up on the beach at night in Studland.
Yesterday, officers worked additional hours to keep the roads clear and move campers on.
A spokesperson for Purbeck Police said: "I stopped a camp that had been set up and stopped a number of people that were arriving between 9pm and 10pm with tents."
"As it got later I then ensured campervans and caravans that were present were not staying overnight and made sure they moved on."
Police also spent a lot of time putting parking tickets on illegally parked cars.
A spokesperson said: "I got straight to work on ticketing vehicles and also noted that the council had also been very busy issuing tickets. If I'm honest I was concerned I would run out of ink or tickets."
