CHARTERHOUSE auctioneers' upcoming auction of collector items includes a selection of one owner toy vehicles, some of which are 80-years-old.

The auction, which takes place on July 3, includes a collection of Dinky model cars from a client in the New Forest.

These feature a few rare pre and post-war cars and vans estimated to sell for over £1,000.

There are classic British Vauxhalls, Rovers, Triumphs and a few lorries including Foden and Bedford, some of which remain in their boxes.

Another toy in the auction is a large 1950’s Shackleton Foden lorry which is fitted with a clockwork engine.

Finished in a rather attractive colour combination of yellow over red, the Foden still retains its original winding key, is in very good condition and comes with its pictorial box.

It is estimated to sell between £200 and £400.

Charterhouse Director, Richard Bromwell said: "A lot of our business as auctioneers is about nostalgia. It is about what you had, what you did not have and what you wanted when you were younger and now want to enjoy again."

Viewing for the collectors auction on July 3 at Charterhouse will take place on July 1 and 2 by appointment only.
