Roads to Durdle Door have been closed this afternoon due to the amount of traffic flocking to the area.

As temperatures hit 30C in Dorset, thousands of people have headed to the coast to enjoy the hot weather.

Traffic and travel account TravelDorset tweeted to say: We are closing the access roads to Durdle Door near #Lulworth.

"The number of cars in the car park has reached a level where we have safety concerns for people using these narrow rural roads.

"Please #ThinkTwice about where you are planning to enjoy the sunshine."

It comes just weeks after the roads to the world-famous beauty spot were closed by the council after people were seriously injured after leaping from the arch into the sea.

Since then a new system has been introduced where people have to pre-book parking spaces.
