BOURNEMOUTH has been nominated as a national finalist for the UK’s most “Family Friendly Destination 2020” in the seaside category by travel company HomeAway.

The Dorset town appears alongside fellow south coast holiday destination Brighton, Conwy in north Wales, North Yorkshire resort Scarborough, Cornish village Sennen Cove and Torquay in south Devon.

The destinations have been selected in accordance to cleanliness, the variety of food and beverage services, level of safety in the area and family friendly entertainment on offer.

The New Forest has also been shortlisted for the same award in the rural category, together with Peak District town Bakewell, Cheltenham in the Cotswolds, Keswick in the Lake District, Derbyshire town Matlock and Tenby in Wales.

Voting is now open until Friday June 26 at 9am.
