A ROMSEY camera club have held their image of the year competition amid coronavirus lockdown.

Viewfinders of Romsey Camera Club hosted its Projected Digital Image of the Year competition, which saw the piece 'After Work' take home the gold in the advanced category.

The judge, Tony Oliver, said the image by Julie Darby had a "dream-like quality" he loved.

Steve Williams took second place with his work 'Venetian Reflection' and third place went to Lynn Lambeth for 'Siblings Resting'.

Seals of Merit were also awarded for another of Julie’s images, as well as images taken by Brian Whittaker, Heath Gough-Holt, Malcolm Richardson and Philip Clewer.

Mary Gardiner’s 'Guardian' was awarded first place in the primary category; the judge said that "it was well taken and he liked the nicely diffused lighting".

Jackie Ridout came second with 'When Life Gives You Lemons' and was awarded Seals of Merit for two other images.

Peter Barnett’s 'Kerry Sunset' came third and Peter was also awarded a Seal of Merit for another of his entries.
