A 65-year-old woman was rescued on the coast after falling 1.5 metres and thought to have broken her hip.
The Lyme Regis Coastguard was called just after 4.30pm on Monday.
A spokesman for Lyme Regis Coastguard said: "She had fallen about 1.5 metres from a groyne and landed onto a rock: her left hip taking most of the impact.
"The initial reports said that the ambulance might take an hour to arrive. After assessing the casualty and her injuries, her pelvis was splinted, and she was carefully ‘packaged’ onto a stretcher.
"The lady was then carried further up the beach to avoid the incoming tide. The ambulance then arrived, and the lady was taken to Dorset County Hospital at Dorchester for further treatment.
"Remember for emergencies on the cliffs, beach, sea or tidal river, call 999 and ask for the coastguard."
