SOUTH East England in Bloom and Bournemouth in Bloom champion Margaret Dudden has created a floral tribute to the NHS in her garden.

With help from her two enthusiastic daughters and granddaughters, Margaret, of Ravine Road Bournemouth, has shown her appreciation for the healthcare service.

Margaret's passion for gardening has landed her many prestigious gardening titles, as well as an appearance on Gardeners' World in 2014.

But with limited opportunity to compete in competitions this year, Margaret decided to channel her passion into something different.

Margaret explained: "I thought about what I could do this year as I've been very unwell and couldn't do much gardening. My two daughters Nicola and Jules helped to create a rainbow in my garden. I directed everyone with my glass of bubbly."

As Margaret has been shielding during the lockdown, she remained in the porch, advising her daughters and granddaughters while also arranging her hanging baskets.

Her husband Chris designed the flower display and repaired it after strong winds on Saturday, 20 June damaged the flowers.

Margaret said: "It was immaculate and everything was perfect. My daughter is a perfectionist like myself and added small lights so it twinkles at night. It's really lovely and I'm pleased with it.

"The NHS are doing so wonderfully. Everybody is dying and it's dreadful. This is my way of saying thank you to the NHS, I have been very lucky."
