Dorset Police Rural Crime Team is offering socially distanced crime prevention visits to farms, smallholdings, equine premises and other rural businesses.

All visits will take place in the open and officers will be adhering to social distancing measures at all times, offering advice on the best methods to keep safe and prevent owners from becoming victims of crime.

A spokesperson said: “Crime prevention in rural areas is very difficult by the nature of the environment but officers are trained and experienced in a rural crime prevention advice.

“On these visits we have a walk around premises and find out more about working practices, uses for any land and buildings and any existing security measures. Finally, once this has been completed, we can then advise on any weak points and security measures that would suit the solution.

“We will also bring along with us a pack containing useful guides and products which might be of interest to you and officers can discuss with you any concerns or product ideas you may have.”
