A POPULAR outdoor attraction in Purbeck will remain closed for the remainder of the 2020 season, it has been announced.

Dorset Adventure Park at Corfe Castle said that with “great disappointment and sadness” the attraction would stay shut due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The waterpark and mud trail, set in 18 acres of woodland and lakes, includes slides, trampolines, gladiator rings, bridges, balance beams and more.

The park opened for business in 2016.

In a statement, Dorset Adventure Park said: “We are announcing with great disappointment and sadness, that Dorset Adventure Park will remain closed for the remainder of the 2020 season. This has been a very tough decision to reach, but the health and wellbeing of our staff and visitors is always at the centre of our minds.

“Over the last four seasons we have been fortunate to see so many customers, regular and new, enjoy both the Waterpark and Mud Trail experiences. We are concentrating our time and energy making the park even better for the 2021 season. It will be our best yet!

The statement continued: “We really appreciate the many messages of support that have been received over the last few weeks. We are so fortunate to have such an amazing group, staff and regular customers. We look forward to welcoming you back to the park next year. Until then, stay safe and look after each other.”

Customers with existing bookings will be contacted and all gift vouchers set to expire this year will automatically be extended to the end of the 2021 season.
