RICK Stein's restaurant in Sandbanks will reopen next month.

The eatery in Banks Road will welcome back diners from Saturday, July 4.

It is currently taking bookings and the number of tables available are limited due to social distancing.

A five-point “safety plan” is being adopted to keep staff and customers safe in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

Measures include a “mandatory health screening” for staff on return to work, enhanced cleaning procedures with signposted hand sanitising stations and deep cleaning every two-hours for high contact areas, plus personal protective equipment and Perspex screens.

Two-metre social distancing will also be observed with floor markings used for queue management and to guide people around. The restaurant will also only accept card payment.

A statement on the Rick Stein website reads: “Getting ready to re-open makes us very happy. The health, safety and well-being of our guests and teams remains our number one priority. We have reviewed all our procedures across each part of our business to ensure that we keep everyone safe, and we will continue to review our approach based upon UK Government guidelines and Public Health England.”
