FESTIVALGOERS are feasting from home.

Bridport Food Festival, which would normally have started this week, is being beamed into people's homes.

Foodies are still talking about and enjoying local produce from home as part of the virtual festival, which continues until June 30.

Bridport Food Festival in Lockdown has been organised by the Bridport Local Food Group.

The festival's regular food and drink businesses are taking part, with many offering food festival specials and treats for Father’s Day.

Helen Choudhury from the Taj Mahal, unable to run her popular Indian masterclass, has provided a recipe and is making herself available to answer any questions you may have.

There will also be cooking and 'how to make' demonstrations during the week from local experts including Sarah Ali-Choudhury, Lloyd Brown, Dark Bear and 11-year-old Abbie Edwards from West Country Catch.

Friday (19), Askers Meadow West Country Catch was due to host its popular seafood and fizz supper, so not to miss out on this popular treat they are now bringing this to peoples' homes in a box.

There are activities for all the family from making a Fresh Food Face out of fruit and veg to making a one-minute food-related video on TikTok.

As people are baking more under lockdown they are invited to share their recipes and a photo to add to the Food Festival website and share with the Bridport Lockdown project.

In place of the festival's popular Tuesday night quiz at the Ropemakers pub, John Baker will still be hosting it online. People will be able to compete virtually against friends and family.

The quiz will have eight rounds of questions plus a picture round.

Everyone taking part is invited to share pictures by tagging @bridportfoodfestival and using the hashtags: #bridportfood #bfflockdown
